Lottare contro gli ignoranti (per il loro bene) - Fight against ignorance

La sua pagina si chiamava DARE RAGIONE AGLI IGNORANTI CRONICI (DRAIC) e, nonostante il nome, aveva come scopo tutto l'opposto. Lui... o forse lei? O loro? ... era un giustiziere della luce, un combattente delle crociate dei nostri tempi e come tale ha subito attacchi feroci e anche sconfitte pesanti. Ma no...non si è arreso. Non si arrende. Perchè nel secolo in cui ogni rimbambito può avere la parola e diffondere un verbo senza senso, convincendo le masse che l'ignoranza è la nuova sapienza, gli eroi come DRAIC sono la fanteria di cui l'homo sapiens ha disperato bisogno!

Gli ignoranti, che purtroppo sono tanti, si sono alleati in massa e - facendo ricorso all'algoritmo (altrettanto stupido) di facebook - hanno costretto DRAIC a chiudere. La sua pagina è stata sommersa da talmente tante segnalazioni che è stata disabilitata dall'algoritmo stesso in quanto "sospetta". Ma sospetta di cosa? Di correggere gli errori? Di portare conoscenza nel mondo dell'antiscienza? Dove stava il "crimine" commesso da DRAIC?

Ma soprattutto... come è iniziata l'avventura di DARE RAGIONE AGLI IGNORANTI CRONICI? L'ho chiesto direttamente a lui (o lei, o loro). 

La mia pagina “Dare Ragione agli Ignoranti Cronici” non nasce per caso, né solo per fare ironia. Nasce da una constatazione semplice: la disinformazione non è più un incidente, è diventata un metodo. Non parlo di errori in buona fede, ma di narrazioni costruite selezionando dati a convenienza, ignorando le evidenze e rifiutando qualsiasi verifica razionale. Questa pagina esiste per smontare pubblicamente argomentazioni scorrette, mostrando come vengono costruite e perché non reggono. Io non chiedo di “credere”, ma di argomentare. Se fai un’affermazione, devi portare dati, fonti, logica. Tutto il resto come slogan, attacchi personali, tifo ideologico resta fuori o viene analizzato per quello che è.

In effetti la tua arma era l'ironia. Con senso dell'umorismo e raffinata simpatia, smontavi le narrazioni più stupide del Mondo Ignorante e poi spiegavi dove sbagliavano e perchè, offrendo in cambio interessanti pagine di cultura.

Esatto, l'ironia per me è uno strumento. Serve a rendere più evidente l’assurdo quando l’assurdo viene presentato come verità. Ma dietro ogni post c’è sempre una base: verifiche, fonti, coerenza. Non è una pagina per piacere a tutti. È uno spazio per chi è disposto a confrontarsi con i fatti, anche quando smentiscono le proprie convinzioni. Perché ignorare la disinformazione non la fa sparire. E qualcuno, ogni tanto, deve anche prendersi la briga di smontarla.

Ma come fai a informare, specialmente in materie mediche e fisiche. Hai una laurea specifica? Lavori in questo settore?

Per quanto riguarda le mie competenze, ho due lauree in discipline scientifiche, ma non mediche. Comunque faccio il possibile per capire le argomentazioni mediche cercando principalmente fonti e usando il metodo scientifico. 

E in un tempo in cui molti odiano i vaccini, gli ospedali, la ricerca e i medici in generale... ma anche gli astronauti, i piloti e qualsiasi cosa riguardi il progresso e lo sviluppo dell'intelligenza... sei finito nel mirino degli "haters", ovvero di gente senza una vita che passa le giornate sul divano a odiare il prossimo. E a rovinargli la vita, dato che fanno chiudere anche utilissime pagine di professionisti solo perchè "non gli piace ciò che dicono".

Esatto! Per quanto riguarda gli "haters", se mi hai seguito sulla pagina facebook, saprai quanti attacchi ho avuto anche in privato. Ovviamente mi attaccano perchè do fastidio.

E vigliacchi come sono, agendo in massa come il classico branco, sono riusciti a zittire la sua pagina facebook, che funzionava da ben 17 anni! Ma il nostro eroe non si è arreso e ha ricominciato da un'altra parte. Oggi lo trovate su INSTAGRAM (qui:https://www.instagram.com/dare_ragione_agli_ignoranti/ )... e se volete un consiglio, seguitelo, leggetelo, perchè è divertente e molto molto interessante.

Non è detto che in futuro il nostro DRAIC non riesca a tornare anche su facebook. Lui (lei? loro?) dice che ci sta provando... e secondo noi ci riuscirà. Ma nel frattempo vale la pena seguire la sua battaglia appassionante anche qui.

Or they? ... was a crusader of the light, a fighter in the crusades of our time, and as such a warrior he has suffered ferocious attacks and even heavy defeats. But no... he didn't give up. He will never give up. 

Because in a century where any idiot can have a say and spread nonsense, convincing the masses that ignorance is the new wisdom, heroes like DRAIC are the infantry that homo sapiens desperately needs! The ignorants, of whom there are unfortunately many, have banded together en masse and—using Facebook's (equally stupid) algorithm—have forced DRAIC to shut down. 

His page has been inundated with so many reports that it has been disabled by the algorithm itself as "suspicious profile". But suspicious ...of what? Of correcting errors? Of bringing knowledge to the world of anti-science? Where was the "crime" committed by DRAIC exactly? 

Let's see, first of all, how did the adventure of this interesting page begin? I asked him (or her, or them) directly. 

My page "Tell the Chronic Ignorants They're Right" wasn't born by chance, nor just for irony. It was born from a simple observation: misinformation is no longer an accident; it has become a method. I'm not talking about honest errors, but narratives constructed by selecting data on purpose, ignoring evidence, and rejecting any rational verification. This page exists to publicly debunk incorrect arguments, showing how they are constructed and why they don't hold up. I'm not asking you to "believe" but to argue. If you make a statement, you must provide data, sources, and logic. Everything else, like slogans, personal attacks, or ideological partisanship, is left out or analyzed for what it is. 

In fact, your weapon was irony. With a sense of humor and refined charm, you debunked the stupidest narratives of the Ignorant World and then explained where they were wrong and why, offering interesting cultural insights in return.

Exactly, irony is a tool for me. It serves to highlight the absurd when the absurd is presented as truth. But behind every post there's always a foundation: verification, sources, consistency. This isn't a page meant to please everyone. It's a space for those willing to confront the facts, even when they contradict their own beliefs. Because ignoring misinformation doesn't make it disappear. And someone, every now and then, has to take the trouble to debunk it. 

But how do you inform, especially in medical and physical subjects? Do you have a specific degree? Do you work in this field? 

Well, as for my skills, I have two degrees in scientific disciplines, but not in medicine. However, I do my best to understand medical arguments, primarily by seeking sources and using the scientific method. 

And in a time when many hate vaccines, hospitals, research and doctors in general... but also astronauts, pilots, and anything related to progress and the development of intelligence... you've ended up in the crosshairs of "haters," meaning people with no life who spend their days on the couch hating others. And ruining their lives, since they make even very useful professional pages shut down just because they "don't like what they say." 

Exactly! As for the "haters" ... if you've followed me on Facebook, you'll know how many attacks I've received, even privately. Obviously, they attack me because I'm annoying. 

And cowards as they are, acting en masse like a classic pack, they managed to silence his 17-year-old Facebook page. But our hero didn't give up and started over somewhere else. Today you can find him on INSTAGRAM (here: https://www.instagram.com/dare_ragione_agli_ignoranti/ )... and if you want some advice, follow him, read him, because he's fun and very, very interesting. Will our DRAIC be able to return to Facebook in the future? He (she? they?) says he's trying... and we think he'll succeed. But in the meantime, it's worth following his passionate battle on Instagram too.
